The location of the lodge, overlooking the river, offered stunning views of elephants and antelopes. The rooms were comfortable with a huge king bed, great linens, and pillows. The lodge provided plenty of hot water and heat at night for cold winter nights. The service was excellent, with maid service like a luxury hotel. The game drives were exciting, with sightings of elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and more.

The vegetarian options and taste of the food were subpar.

We stayed at the Aha Thakadu River Camp for a few nights on a safari trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and the management was involved in every detail. Our game drive was fantastic, with a knowledgeable and humorous guide. The location was excellent, and we enjoyed spotting monkeys from our balcony and impalas from the pool. The amenities were cozy, the food and wine were great, and we felt we got excellent value for money.

The viewing deck offered stunning river views, and we even got to see elephants up close. The staff at the main building were friendly and helpful, providing excellent dining service. The food was delicious, with a good variety prepared by talented chefs. The comfortable bed and clean linen made for a restful sleep. The best part was the game drives - I've never seen such a variety of wildlife in such a short time. Madikwe is definitely the place to go for an unforgettable safari experience.
